*Some great tips for healthier eating.....
1) Plan your meals in advance. Draw out a timeline of your day on a piece of paper and write down what you plan to eat. For example, if your day begins at 6am, write down what you will be eating at 6am, at 9am, at noon, etc. If you know you will be eating lunch with colleagues at a restaurant, just write "dining out" under that "noon" spot on your timeline.
2) Eating every 3 hours actually helps speed up your metabolism. And, remember, each meal will be small because you are eating more often.
3) Purge all foods in your house that will tempt you to go off of your eating plan.
4) Allow yourself a free day. If you deprive yourself of all of your tasty indulgences, you'll end up diving head first into a pool of chocolate pudding. Keep in mind, though, modification!!!

Black and Blue Berries in Ginger Syrup



Yield: 4 servings (Serving size: 1 1/4 cups)

Ingredients:
*2 cups water
*2 1/2 cups blackberries, divided
*1/3 cup granulated sugar
*2 (1") pieces peeled fresh ginger, thinly sliced
*2 (3") strips lime zest
*2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
*2 cups blueberries

1) Bring 2 cups water, 1/2 cup blackberries, sugar, ginger and lime zest to a boil over medium-high heat in a saucepan, stirring just until sugar is dissolved. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
2) Pour mixture through a fine strainer set over a bowl; don't press on solids. Reserve the syrup, discarding the blackberries. Stir in the lime juice.
3) Add the remaining 2 cups blackberries and blueberries to the syrup.

Carbohydrate: 29 grams
Protein: 2 grams
Fat: 1 gram
Fiber: 6 grams
