*Looking for nature's perfect food? Pomegranate is all the rage, with a high concentration of antioxidants. Antioxidants protect cells and repair damage caused by free radicals. Pomegranate has been said to improve blood flow through arteries, decrease total cholesterol and bad LDL cholesterol, control oral inflammation and bacteria and fungus in periodontal disease, and even help to improve erectile dysfunction. However, please note, there is not enough quality, human research to support or reject these claims. In the meantime, drink up!

The New Waldorf Salad

Yield: 4 servings (Serving size: 1/2 cup salad and 2 Boston lettuce leaves)

*2 tablespoons non-fat plain yogurt
*1 tablespoon lemon juice
*2 small apples, cubed
*1/3 cup pomegranate
*1 cup red grapes, halved
*1/3 cup dried cranberries
*1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
*1/4 cup thinly sliced celery (about 1 stalk)
*8 Boston lettuce leaves

1) Combine yogurt and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Add apples, pomegranate, grapes, cranberries; mix well.
2) Add walnuts and celery; mix well. Serve it on a bed of 2 lettuce leaves.
