*Welcome to the second of a two-part series on diet tips:
D) Learn to eat small portions. Instead of saying, "I can never eat chocolate cake again!", teach yourself to enjoy a forkful of that cake.
E) Pay attention to the food you are eating. Taste your food. Quit multitasking. Sit down to eat. All these tips will help you enjoy your food, and you will actually eat less. When you don't pay attention to the food you are eating, you aren't paying attention to the amount you are consuming either.
F) Use smaller dishes. If your portion is small, you can eat anything that really sounds good to you. Use a salad plate instead of a dinner plate, that way it doesn't look like you are cheating yourself of food. Use a ramekin for treats like ice cream or pudding. Drink juice out of a small juice glass--saving those big tumblers for water.

Spicy Shrimp Ceviche with Cilantro



Yield: 8 servings (Serving size: 1/2 cup)

Ingredients:
*1 pound peeled large shrimp, cooked
*1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
*1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
*1 garlic clove, minced
*2 chopped scallions
*1 diced red bell pepper
*1 cup chopped peeled jicama
*3/4 cup orange sections
*1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
*1/2 teaspoon salt

1) Combine ingredients; chill 1 hour. Serve cold.
