***California became the second state in the union to legalize gay marriage. Unfortunately, this November, Californians will have an opportunity to vote on Proposition 8, which would ELIMINATE the right of same-sex couples to marry. A statewide coalition called Equality for All is working diligently to prevent Proposition 8 from passing. Please donate to Equality for All. Proponents of Proposition 8 have raised nearly $20 million for a statewide media campaign to convince voters to pass this effort to permanently discriminate against gays and lesbians. We, as a nation, cannot allow Proposition 8 to pass, because if it does, then opponents of gay marriage will turn their attention to the rest of the country. This is about equality and fairness. Same-sex couples deserve the same dignity and respect that heterosexual couples enjoy. Same-sex couples deserve the same hospital-visitation rights, tax benefits and inheritance benefits that heterosexual couples receive. Autumn Salad

Yield: 4 servings (Serving size: 1 cup)

*1 tablespoon honey
*1 teaspoon whole-grain Dijon mustard
*1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
*1/4 teaspoon salt
*1/4 teaspoon black pepper
*2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
*2 tablespoons water
*1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
*1 (5-ounce) package fresh baby spinach
*3/4 cup dried cranberries
*1/4 cup salted pumpkin seeds, roasted
*1 ounce thinly sliced Manchego cheese

1) Whisk together first 5 ingredients (through pepper) in a small bowl until smooth. Add the vinegar, water and olive oil, whisking until well combined.
2) Combine the spinach, cranberries and pumpkin seeds in a large bowl. Add the vinaigrette and toss until well coated. Divide the salad evenly among 4 plates. Arrange the cheese over each salad.
